About the company
Dieuwke was always very passionate about the world of Burlesque and striptease. That’s why she started an online webshop and started giving workshops in Burlesque. And so in 2013, Kama was born.
Now, in 2017, Dieuwke organises workshops, fotoshoots, lessons and shows on a fulltime basis. She also offers a wide range of Burlesque items via het webshop. And she also has big plans for the future!
About this project
In 2013, when Kama was founded, Dieuwke asked me to make her website. Since I had little or no time because of my studies, another company made the original website. When this agency stopped in 2015, I helped her with the maintenance of her website. Dieuwke already knew a lot about WordPress, but there were just some things she needed help with.
4 years later, the website has expanded and changed a lot. And in time, I got to do more and more exciting work for Kama. I’ve done some printing jobs, designer the new Kama logo and manage her online marketing campaigns.

About the Kama website
The main purpose of the website is for clients to obtain information about the workshops, shows, lessons, Burlesque fitness and the photoshoots. That’s why these elements, along with the webshop, are all in the main menu. In the top navigation, you’ll find more information about Kama, the photo gallery and a link to the contact page. More information on the general terms of agreements, the customers’ privacy and information about payments, delivery and refunds can be found in the footer.
The Kama website uses the Flatsome theme by UX Theme. It’s a Flat Responsive theme, suitable for WooCommerce. It offers basic rows and columns and has a variety of settings you can adjust.
As for plugins, the Kama website uses some basic and advanced plugins:
- WooCommerce and a variety of other WooCommerce-related plugins
- Brute Force Login Protection and Wordfence Security as the website was under vicious cyber attacks

- Google Analytics Dashboard for WP

WooCommerce webshop
The webshop is made with the all-known WooCommerce plugin since it’s easy to implement. Besides the basic WooCommerce plugin, there are a lot of other WooCommerce-related plugins like WooCommerce – Gift Cards, to offer gift cards to customers and allowing them to place orders using them. More on this in the ‘Printing Section’.

Since Kama is becoming more and more popular, Dieuwke wanted a new logo because the previous logo used an image of a fan from Google Images. The fan used in the new logo is completely made in Illustrator. After a long search on the internet, we’ve also found a suitable Burlesque font named ‘Parisian’ that’s also being used on the website.
In a similar way, the Eliza Kama logo is made.
Kama gift cards
You can now also buy gift cards in the Kama webshop, where you can choose between a gift card value of 10, 20, 25, 50 or 100 euros. The printed gift cards will be delivered at home and offer a text box in the back so you can write down a personal message for the happy recipient.
Generic flyers
These A5-format flyers were made to promote the different aspects of Kama and offered a coupon code for the webshop on the back. The flyers were made because of the new Kama logo.
Inspiring e-cards
I’ve designed a series of e-cards for Kama that she printed out so she can hand it out during her workshops or lessons. On the cards you’ll find inspiring Burlesque quotes. The e-cards are available in the webshop. They’re even free!
